Black Trans Advocacy Conference Cancellation due to the Coronavirus
January 19, 2022
Dear Black Trans Advocacy Coalition Family,
Your health and well-being is our top priority, and our thoughts are with those impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). With the effects of the outbreak being felt more each day, we wanted to connect with you to help make sure that you are informed about the outbreak as it relates to our BTAC 2022 Conference.
With deep regret, we must announce that for the third year in a row we are unable to safely host the event due to the coronavirus. Between dealing with the different covid variants, vaccine mandates, mask mandates, individual health concerns, safety in traveling, there is simply too many pending factors. COVID sucks and we cant wait until this is all behind us but until then we push forward. This has been a very difficult decision to make as we know that BTAC is utilized as an annual self care event, with many preparing to attend for the very first time. While we are saddened by this delayed opportunity to reunite with our community, it is vitally important that we adhere to all CDC recommendations as provided.
When is the next Conference?: We work a year in advance on the conference and have already locked in next years dates! We look forward to seeing everyone next year at our National Black Trans Advocacy Conference always the last week in April, scheduled April 25-30 2023 Dallas, Texas. More information including event payment plans will be available in the summer.
We are prepared to navigate these challenging circumstances with everyone’s safety in mind and are here to assist as needed.
Yours in service,
National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition
